[sf-perl] trouble installing Net::LDAP

I missed the beginning of the thread.  Could you be being bitten by an
older ExtUtils::MakeMaker that doesn't recognize INSTALL_BASE?  What
happens if you specify PREFIX=/what/ever/you/need?
