For the month of December we won't be having a traditional 2nd-Tuesday
meeting. But something even better is happening: We've been invited to a
Christmas Open Source Hackathon sponsored by Bluehost.

The short version:

Link to RSVP: http://goo.gl/forms/4yrLeMEk7a
When: December 17, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM (come and go at any time)
Where: Building H of Canyon Park in Orem, Utah
560 Timpanogos Parkway, Orem, UT, 84097
What: Contribute as many pull requests to open source projects as you can
in a day.
Donate a NEW, UNWRAPPED toy to Toys for Tots.

The longer version:

Bluehost is hosting (and has invited Salt Lake Perl Mongers) a hackathon in
conjunction with 24pullrequests.com and Toys for Tots
<http://www.toysfortots.org/default.aspx>, combining two fundamental
Bluehost beliefs: Open Source software and supporting children in need.

It is an all day hackathon on Dec 17, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM for
employees and non-employees alike, with the primary focus being on
contributing pull requests to open source projects on github.com. You can
learn more about the basic premise from 24pullrequests.com .

There will also be donation boxes out to collect new, unwrapped toys which
will then be distributed by the U. S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots Program
as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children.

The hackathon will be on the second floor of the Orem offices, within
Building H. All action will be found inside the HAL-9000 conference room.

Bluehost will provide free and secure wifi and power to support your own
laptop/desktop/Commodore 64. Prizes will be awarded for the most pull
requests, most accepted pull requests, and anything else we can think of.
Prizes will be determined at the end of the day based on a public
leaderboard. You do not need to be present to receive your prize.

Bluehost will provide snacks and soda throughout the day as well as both
lunch and dinner for participants. If you plan to be there during one or
both meals, please make sure to RSVP so we order enough for everyone.

If you can't make it to Orem but you could potentially make it to one of
our offices in Draper or Provo, let us know and we'll consider opening some
alternate locations if there is enough interest.

Email hackathon at bluehost.com if you have any questions and, of course, pass
the word on to anyone interested. The more the merrier!

We look forward to hacking with you!
