Here is information about an Intermediate Perl
online course. Note the
This is the first course in the
    upcoming Perl Programming Certifiicate.
comment in the message.

I don't have experience with any courses from
the University of Illinois Office of Continuing
Education. The online, regular credit courses
in Calculus from the University of Illinois are
reportedly very good. I went to a presentation
at a conference a few years back where people
that took the course described their experience.

For the student who has taken our popular Perl 1: Introduction to Perl course, or who has equivalent experience, we present this course to take you to the next level in your Perl career.

In this course, we build upon the foundation established in Perl 1 so that you can create practical programs that interact with the user and the operating system: reading and writing files and directories, for instance. We'll teach you how to perform useful and important tasks without even writing programs, by calling Perl from the command line with brief "one-liners." We introduce the powerful technology of regular expressions for matching and changing text, and expand your repertoire of Perl operators, functions, and looping constructs.

When finished, you'll earn 4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the University of Illinois Office of Continuing Education. This is the first course in the upcoming Perl Programming Certificate.
