It's around an hour long and probably only of interest to people who have some Perl 5 programming and are interested in Perl 6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzIWdJVP-wo&eurl=http://elkosmas.gr/2009/02/07/larry_wall_about_perl/ Mark Senn From mark at purdue.edu Sun Feb 8 06:57:34 2009 From: mark at purdue.edu (Mark Senn) Date: Sun, 08 Feb 2009 09:57:34 -0500 Subject: [Purdue-pm] free access to Perl Review this week Message-ID: <13278.1234105054@pier.ecn.purdue.edu> Purdue Perl Mongers (Perl uses grop), Purdue Engineering Computer Network Perl Information and Discussion, Twitter.com is my favorite social networking system. jrockway twittered: to celebrate frozen perl, the perl review is free online this week. userame frozenperl, password gogophers (http://www.theperlreview.com) Mark Senn (twitter: STEMschool) From gizmo at purdue.edu Wed Feb 11 07:12:53 2009 From: gizmo at purdue.edu (Joe Kline) Date: Wed, 11 Feb 2009 10:12:53 -0500 Subject: [Purdue-pm] interesting cpan data Message-ID: <4992EAF5.6030900@purdue.edu> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 alias (Adam Kennedy) has two rather interesting use.perl.org posts. I forget if anyone offered to do one at the last meeting. I recall Mark mentioning his programming of Legos with Perl, and I thought it was on the table for February. On the other hand, I have band practice that, in the future, should not be every Tuesday and can be scheduled around PM, but this week can't be. Which means there'll be two irregular PM attendees who wouldn't have their ride/chaparone, both of whom would love to see Mark program his Legos to draw mathematic shapes. So, if it works and if he's still interested, maybe March? -- Dave Jacoby Address: WSLR S049 Purdue Genomics Core Mail: jacoby at purdue.edu Jabber: jacoby at jabber.org Phone: hah! No. The reason I scheduled tentatively for February was because I haven't had much time to work on this. I'm not sure how well the robot drawing on a piece if paper will work yet---will be working on that this weekend. I've got some ideas and a backup idea to cheat (very dark room, light on robot, time exposure). Have some other ideas in mind also. Let's use private email for any furthur discussion about this so we don't disturb everyone on the list please. -mark
