Message-ID: <48EA2947.5030808@purdue.edu> A reminder that the October technical meeting is in 8 days -- next Tuesday, Oct. 14th, 6:30 PM in ME 119. We have a bunch of speakers lined up: Mark will give a talk on MOOSE -- the new object orientation system. I will also give a (we hope complementary) talk on the same topic. Derrick is going to talk about using lex and yacc with Perl. Joe Kline is going to give a report on OSCON 2008 -- the open source convention held this past summer. Both Doug and Dave have said that they will give presentations -- topic to be announced. Hope to see you at the meeting! -- Rick Westerman westerman at purdue.edu Bioinformatics specialist at the Genomics Facility. From that web page: STEMschool Inc. is an Indiana non-profit corporation. Our mission is to provide free STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) help to K-12 teachers, students, and schools in the Lafayette Indiana area to stimulate interest in STEM, make school more interesting, and better prepare students for the future. I'm helping Central Catholic High School get started using Mathematica this semester. -mark From derrick at csociety.org Thu Oct 9 07:47:44 2008 From: derrick at csociety.org (derrick) Date: Thu, 09 Oct 2008 10:47:44 -0400 Subject: [Purdue-pm] Tech meeting in 8 days. I have an opportunity to go to the Great Smoky Mountains for October Break and I don't think I'll be back in time for this meeting. I apologize for the late notice, but I promise to incorporate the trip into the November talk. dsk From jacoby.david at gmail.com Tue Oct 14 05:39:46 2008 From: jacoby.david at gmail.com (Dave Jacoby) Date: Tue, 14 Oct 2008 08:39:46 -0400 Subject: [Purdue-pm] Meeting Tonight? I am frantically working on my Moose talk, Doug has something up his sleeve, Joe should be giving a talk on OSCON and we will all be looking forward to your "five-minute thing" talk. Oct. 14. 6:30 PM. ME 119. I suspect about an hour long meeting. Phillip and I (and maybe Doug) will be heading out to dinner (e.g., a bite in the Union) before hand -- send email if you want more details of when and where. -- Rick From pmiguel at purdue.edu Tue Oct 14 06:22:13 2008 From: pmiguel at purdue.edu (Phillip San Miguel) Date: Tue, 14 Oct 2008 09:22:13 -0400 Subject: [Purdue-pm] Meeting Tonight?
