Directions to the council are at http://pghtech.org Unfortunately, pghcodingdojo.org is temporarily unavailable. This month we'll work on creating a domain specific language for programmatic creation of HTML formatted output. The idea is a library you could embed and use rather than using a code-in-template library, or having to do lots of print(") style coding. This is a problem that lends itself to some languages features than others, so we'll also look to see how people approach the problem in different languages. So mark your calendars for June 22 through Wednesday, June 24. Oh just block out the entire week we are going to have some Perl fun in the 'burgh. But before that happens we will be having our third Pittsburgh Perl Workshop. This will be the weekend of October 11th and 12th 2008. Does anyone have any ideas on how to set that up? This would need to be a network aware application so we can keep it current during the events. This would provide thing from real time flickr feeds of the event, blog snips, cpan upload, #yapc or #ppw IRC snips, who knows what we will stick in it so it would need to be flexible. Maybe it is nothing more than a RSS feed reader that can advance itself after an event or duration of time. Ideas welcome.
