If anyone is interested, I've just received a call out of the blue from a recruiter who's looking
for top-notch Perl programmers with Extreme Programming experience who are interested in working
in San Mateo, California.  The pay ranges she discussed were impressive, but I don't want to move
to California.  If anyone has a strong resume in these areas and is interested, please let me know
