[Pdx-pm] (OT) Contract work a viable option?

Hi all,

As many of you know, I have been looking for work.  I will be leaving for Vermont for three weeks
to work on a contract and I started pondering the viability of contract work.  I'm thinking of the
"have keyboard, will travel" idea.  Does anyone have an insight into that and is their enough of a
market out there for a programmer to make a living?
