installation problems

I installed Bundle::DBI with the CPAN module. It reported problems with 
Net::Daemon  and RPC::PlServer both gave the message,  "make test had returned bad status, won't install without force" 
  My machine is an SGI O2 running Irix 6.5
Any suggestions?
