Minner om årsmøtet ikveld!

Husk at aktiviteter, moro&sprell, konferanser, fagtreff og 
rekrutteringsgrunnlaget for Perl-miljøet i Oslo er en _direkte_ 
konsekvens av hvem og hvor mange som blir valgt inn i styret ikveld.

Hvis du ønsker å se et levende miljø i 2011 og utover, så er det IDAG 
du må stille opp.

Oslo.pm er et dugnadsprosjekt!

       We need volunteers!


Oslo.pm has been asked to organize a regular meeting (with 
presentations or whatever we like) at the "Communities in Action" 
event on March 22nd!

Last year we brought Matt S. Trout to Oslo to compare the Ruby and 
Perl object systems, and we had a great time!

But this year we need help! The board is much smaller this time, so 
volunteers are needed to a much larger extent.

If you've wondered about helping the Oslo Perl community with 
something cool, or become a little more visible in general (always 
good to be visible if you're looking for jobs ;), then THIS is your 
big chance!

We need one or more people who would like to organize this meeting, 
and we need them to decide by _tomorrow_ (Thursday january 20th).

If you want to make something cool happen, speak up now! :D

Det blir en ny runde med communities in action. Har dere i Oslo.PM lyst til
å være med?

Denne mailen er til alle som arrangerer fagmøter, fagpilser og andre
faglig-sosiale treff, meetups og konferanser.

22. mars 2011 arrangeres "Communities in Action 2011" av Cantara sammen med
Nasjonalt kompetansesenter for fri programvare.CiA er et arrangent der
foreninger kan avholde sitt medlemsmøte samtidig og i parallell med flere
andre foreninger, i flotte lokaler på Radisson SAS-hotellet på Holbergs
plass.

Formålet med CiA er å synliggjøre bredden og dybden av fagmiljøene i Oslo,
og gi foreningene muligheten til å både rekruttere nye medlemmer og å bli
bedre kjent med hverandre. I 2010 trakk CiA rundt 550 mennesker, og i 2011
venter vi enda flere siden vi avholder konferansen i samme lokalene som Go
Open 2011! På denne måten håper vi å trekke interesse fra folk i offentlig
og privat sektor som vanligvis ikke bruker tid på faglig-sosiale
aktiviteter.


Men for å til til dette trenger vi DIN hjelp! Er du og din forening
interessert i å avholde et medlemsmøte på CiA?

  * Dato: 22. mars 2011, kl. 17:30 - 19:30

  * Tidsbruk: 2 x 50 minutter, eller 4 x 20 minutter (evt. 2 lightning talks
i løpet av hver 20min)

  * Formålet er å vise det beste av fagmiljøene i Oslo

  * Spesielt interessetema for 2011: Fri programvare/Open Source og community
building.

  * Kvelden avsluttes med paneldiskusjon med spesielt inviterte

I contacted Damian Conway by email.
Turns out he's currently on vacation.

I hoped to meet him at the January local PM meeting,
but it was held one day before I arrived.
Next one will be 2nd Wednesday of February,
but even then, he usually doesn't show up at
PM meetings, as I'm told he lives out of the city.

If it's not too late yet, I'd say let's wait
1-2 days more for him to answer my mail.

February meeting will be on the 1st Wednesday of February not the 2nd! It's 
the date that will be 2/2.

We tried a year with Tuesdays, but nobody liked it.
