I was just informed that gcc doesn't exist in the most recent OSX release ("Mountain Lion"). It's been replaced with LLVM. Fascinating. This is one of those times I wished I understood C++ underpinnings better than I do. https://www.socialtext.net/perl5/llvm I assume the CPAN tool chain still works as it always has? I also keep a copy of the latest portable version of Strawberry Perl on a USB drive with a bunch of extra modules.
