Heh. I believe this is the first post I've seen on this list since I subscribed over a month ago. I attended the first meeting on August 6 and haven't heard anything since then. Looking at the website, I can see there haven't been any meetings since the first one. I guess nobody uses perl in OC. > If there are any upcoming meetings, a reminder Monday and/or > Tuesday morning would be beneficial also. Agreed. I think attendence would have been better for the first meeting if there would have been an announcement 7 days before and the Monday before. We discussed the possibility of informal gatherings until regular meetings and/or presentations can get back on track. I'm sure Ryan will read this so perhaps he'll chime in. -Dave On Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at 10:53 PM, bill@daze.net wrote: > >> I haven't noticed any traffic here...are there still any meetings? >> I haven't heard anything since the first one. > > I attended the first meeting on August 6 and haven't heard anything > since > then. Based on the web page, looks like a *great* meeting place. (An opinion on slightly influenced by the fact it's in walking distance :). Not the most convenient location for most folks in Orange County. I'm guessing not too many people showed up. The charter *sounds* rather narrow. There are lots of people who use Perl regularly, but not exclusively. Maybe a wider net next time? -----Original Message----- From: Andrew Sweger Sent: Tuesday, November 12, 2002 8:16 PM On Tue, 12 Nov 2002, Wyatt Draggoo wrote: > Heh. I don't remember the exact number, but there were about 8 to 10 people, with about half of them being Oakley employees. -Bill From ryan at web.oakley.com Fri Nov 22 03:02:57 2002 From: ryan at web.oakley.com (Ryan Erwin) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:04:55 2004 Subject: OC-PM: December Meeting and Site Update Message-ID: <3155C48C-FDF9-11D6-9A89-00039357E21C@web.oakley.com> Sorry for the delay, but we're back in Business! My first choice would be to cover the basics of using SAX ( the Simple API for XML) but I wanted to offer an opportunity for the folks that will be attending to have a say in what they'll be seeing. To that end, if enough folks can agree on another Perl/XML related topic that they'd rather hear about before this weekend,( preferably a topic I've touched on in my column[1] ) then I'll gladly go in that direction. Thoughts, comments, suggestions? -kip [1] http://xml.com/pub/q/perlxml
