I believe the plan for December is still to take the month off -- but in January I hope to have an announcement about a technical event! My plan, if there's sufficient interest, would be to hold these in addition, rather than instead, of the current social events. For those who aren't familiar with the format, the rough idea would be to meet around the same time as usual (say 7 to 7.30) in either a booked conference room, or a booked private room in a pub, and for anywhere from 1-4 speakers to give short (I guess anywhere from 5 to 25 minute) presentations about ... well, any interesting technical topic is welcome :-) Some vague connection to Perl would be even better. I guess if talks and the discussions in between last a couple of hours, those who so wish can head to a pub after -- and those who need to get away can do so. Details will follow, but if anybody has suggestions about venues, ideas for a talk they could give, or questions about what kind of talk would be appropriate, feel free to ping me on or off list and we can talk about it! Cheers all, James ... ON THE TRAIN! HELLO!
