I can vouch for the work environment, as I've been doing some
consulting for the Walker. They've bought into the open-source model
for most stuff, as they (wisely, IMO) don't see the need to create and
maintain their own software tools for all their projects. Their main
intellectual property is art-related, not software. For my work I've
been extending/fixing various stuff out there and submitting patches to
maintainers as I go.
I'd apply for this job myself but I'm hoping to get into a more
specialized area. I'll be at the meeting tonight, if anyone wants to
know something they think I could answer. Joe will know the details a
lot better, of course.
