PS. I'd suggest hitting ARM64 (aarch64 in qemu) as that's quite a 
mainstream CPU, rather than something rare like Alpha or s390x. You're much 
more likely to find working packages, or assistance on forums, and I bet 
the virtualisation is far more optimised and/or complete.
