However with the lack of talks for the past couple of months, I was hoping somebody could put their hand up to talk about something Perlish for a future meeting? Anyone wanting to tell the world about things they have been working on in Perl or give a talk about some cool new Perl trick that they've learned recently that others might find useful? It's a new and improved "great things you've missed in Perl" thing, but especially it covers plack and other good things. Might be a side trip to NZ in there, but I'm happy to talk about anything if you like. I'm sure you've got a lot to say about Perl :) By convention I guess the next meeting will be the 13th of Feb. I'll send out a reminder in the next couple of weeks as we get closer and after Michael has an idea of what his talk will be about. (Also thanks Jacinta for dobbing-in Paul for a future meeting :) Alfie -- Alfie John alfiej at opera.com From schwern at pobox.com Tue Jan 15 16:09:42 2013 From: schwern at pobox.com (Michael G. If any of you have requests of what you'd like to hear, I'd like to hear them. I'd prefer to do something that is not available on video (or if it is amplify on it) to best take advantage of being in town. I would be interested in seeing a lightning talk on it. And speaking of Autoboxing, that reminds me of Stevan Little's talk on Moe where he compares Java's OO to Perl's. It anyone hasn't seen it yet, it looks like an interesting project - its aim is to have a subset/rewrite/spec of Perl 5: https://speakerdeck.com/stevan_little/perl-is-not-dead-it-is-a-dead-end Alfie -- Alfie John alfiej at opera.com From jarich at perltraining.com.au Tue Jan 29 19:28:37 2013 From: jarich at perltraining.com.au (Jacinta Richardson) Date: Wed, 30 Jan 2013 14:28:37 +1100 Subject: [Melbourne-pm] Meeting... next week or the week after?
