I don't really get why you'd just reimplement everything, other than
the experience. I have thought it'd be interesting to have a Perlish
environment directly on top of the kernel, where the shell is actually
a REPL the whole system plays to Perl's strengths (whatever they may
be). But its a bit of a solution looking for a problem, and I have
better things to do :)
