So, the Oracle community is wanting to embrace the MySQL community.

They say that Oracle will be answering questions about MySQL's future too...

Cheers,
Tim.

ODTUG Welcomes the MySQL Community to Kaleidoscope 2010

ODTUG is pleased to welcome the MySQL community to participate in our annual Kaleidoscope Conference in Washington, D.C.  Following the successful formula of asking the experts within a community to create an agenda for new and relevant topic areas, newly named Oracle MySQL ACE Director Ronald Bradford and his colleagues have come up with a very compelling reason for MySQL developers to attend this year's conference.  This agenda should be of interest to anyone involved in development of applications that utilize the MySQL database, as well as those attendees that would just like to learn a little more about MySQL.  To see more details about this exciting addition to the ODTUG Kaleidoscope Conference, check out www.odtugkaleidoscope.com/MySQL.html.
On Monday, June 28 from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., all MySQL users are invited to attend the MySQL Sundown Session. Oracle MySQL ACE Directors, Ronald Bradford and Sheeri K. Cabral, will lead a lively session and answer your MySQL technical questions, as well as questions regarding the future of MySQL. Immediately following the Sundown Sessions, participants can continue their discussions and meet other Oracle ACE Directors and ACEs during a short reception. Light refreshments will be served.
Sundown Sessions will also be offered on Middle Tier and Client-Side Development, Database Development, Hyperion, Essbase and BI, SOA and BPM, and Application Express.
ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2010, June 27-July 1 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. features more than 170 sessions, Hands-on Training, and four full-day Symposia. Major topics include: Application Express, Database Development, Essbase, Hyperion Applications, Hardcore Hyperion, Middle Tier and Client-Side Development, MySQL, Oracle Business Intelligence, Hyperion Reporting, Data Warehousing, and SOA and BPM. For more information go to www.odtugkaleidoscope.com.

Hotel Room Reservation Deadline - June 9
Don't forget to make your hotel reservations at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. Rates are $199 for all attendees (this is even lower than the approved government rate). But don't delay; the room reservation cut-off deadline is June 9, 2010.  You may call the Washington Marriott Wardman Park directly at 202.328.2000, and be sure to mention that you are with the ODTUG room block.
