OO Perl Developer/Perl QA Engineer Contract
Location: anywhere in U.S. (100% telecommuting)
Rate: $45-55/hr 1099 or Corp to Corp

A new start up is looking for a candidate to perform 50% OO Perl Development
and 50% Quality Assurance. The company is in the business of credit card
transaction processing and is fully funded. 

50% OO Perl Development
The OO Perl developer will be responsible for the new development of a high
volume credit card processing system from the ground up expected to handle
10K transactions/day within the first few months of production. The OO Perl
is currently developed and deployed on Debian Linux with MySQL on the
backend. 

50% Quality Assurance
The candidate will need to have interest in writing automated testing tools
and scripts in Perl to test the above systems. The candidate will also be
responsible for:
Utilizing SQL to test MySQL Database
Perform code reviews of other developers' OO Perl code
Utilize Subversion for Source Control

This position is almost 100% telecommuting as once every 3-4 months the
company will pay all expenses for meetings in Las Vegas.

REQUIREMENTS
MUST have 2+ yrs of OO Perl development on Linux for high volume
applications and/or systems
MUST have experience creating testing tools and/or scripts in Perl
MUST have experience utilizing SQL to perform data verification to MySQL
Since this is a 100% telecommuting position, good over the phone
communication skills
Plus:
Subversion
Database skills (preferable MySQL) including the ability to design
relational databases, interface SQL optimization of queries to MySQL or
Oracle
MySQL InnoDB mode OR MySQL (any mode) AND either Oracle, Postgres, or
Informix
Familiar with using ORM (Object Relational Mapping)
Experience with Rose-DB-Object 
Any DBA skills is a plus but not necessary

Open Source Quality Assurance Lead and Engineers (PHP, Perl or C a must
have)
Location:       Sunnyvale or Glendale or Los Angeles, CA 
Salary:         Completely Open (Depends on experience) + bonus + options

A very successful company is looking for a Lead QA and Sr QA Engineers. The
QA Engineers will be responsible for designing and building a QA
infrastructure from the ground up based on open source tools (PHP or Perl or
C). The QA Engineers will be responsible for creating complex workflows,
developing and creating Testing Tools from scratch using PHP, Perl and/or C,
to perform functional black box testing. 

Please note this is not a position that utilizes standard testing software
packages (i.e. Mercury, Segue, Rational, etc.) and those resumes can not be
considered.

The QA Engineers will be testing 25+ systems that monitor, analyze, manage,
operate, install, build and report on several very large data center global
operations and very high volume mission critical distributed applications.
These systems will interface and gather large amounts of data in various
formats (primarily traffic flow and performance), from 2+k
servers/networking devices and several large mission critical distributed
applications, cleanse, convert, verify, manipulate, cleanse data, load large
volumes (100-200 million rows) of data into MySQL databases and export data
in various formats to several different locations. These systems are
primarily developed in OO PHP and OO Perl on Linux using a WebServices SOA
with MySQL on the backend.

Open source QA engineers will be responsible for interfacing with OO
PHP/Perl developers and managers to analyze and report test results. The Q/A
Engineer will be responsible for creating test plans and test cases,
executing test scripts (manual and automated) and attending Application
Design, Development and testing meetings. Candidate will be responsible for
defining, creating, executing and documenting performance test plans.
Candidate will also be responsible for analyzing and reporting testing
results. Candidate will write and execute manual and automated functional
and performance test scripts, using PHP or Perl, of proprietary
applications, maintain automated and manual regression test scripts of both
front and back-end functionality, utilize SQL to populate test data and
confirm results, develop, maintain and execute stress/load scripts and
scenarios, create test harnesses in PHP or Perl, bash and SQL, provide
product support - verify, escalate, track and resolve user-reported issues
and report, confirm and close defects.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
MUST HAVE experience creating functional black box testing tools in PHP or
Perl or C
MUST have experience creating, running and reporting tests in an open source
environment
BS and/or MS in CS or related field a plus
Experience testing the following is a plus:
High volume data processing systems
Database structures (preferably MySQL or Postgres)  
Systems that interface with networking/load balancers/server/applications
and pull traffic flow and performance data
WebServices using SOAP and/or REST is a plus.

Lead and Sr OO PHP/Perl/C Engineers
Location:       Sunnyvale or Glendale or Los Angeles, CA

A very successful company is looking for a solid OO PHP/Perl/C/C++ Engineer.
The are both Lead and Sr positions available. This company is in the early
stages of designing, building out, enhancing and testing 25+ systems that
monitor, analyze, manage, operate, install, build and report on several very
large data center global operations and very high volume mission critical
distributed applications. These systems will interface and gather large
amounts of data in various formats (primarily traffic flow and performance),
from 2+k servers/networking devices and several large mission critical
distributed applications, cleanse, convert, verify, manipulate, cleanse

and export data in various formats to several different locations.
Furthermore, the company is building systems that handle change management,
server and application installs, hardware/software/inventory change requests
and portals. All of these 25+ systems are being built within a WebServices
SOA using SOAP and REST. The Engineer will be responsible for the full SDLC
of these systems including design of complex workflows, build out of
processes, development and testing of systems. These systems are primarily
built using OO PHP and OO Perl on Linux with MySQL on the backend.

Requirements:
Candidate MUST be at the expert level with OO PHP or OO Perl. Company will
accept expert C/C++ developers that have proven experience developing
operations monitoring systems as described above.
Experience developing system operations applications is a big plus.

Must have experience with operating systems (preferably Linux)
Experience developing high volume data processing systems is a plus
Should have experience with database theory and structures (preferably MySQL

Ability to troubleshoot bottlenecks, tune and optimize MySQL databases is a
big plus.
Any networking experience is a plus. Ability to write systems that interface
with networking/load balancers/server/applications and pull traffic flow and
performance data is a big plus.
Any experience building WebServices using SOAP and/or REST is a plus.
Should have experience writing Unix shell scripts
Experience with Web 2.0 is a plus

LAMP (PHP or Perl) Developer

A very small but profitable Internet startup company is looking for 4 LAMP
Developers. Company has only been in business for less than one year, is
profitable and has millions of hits/day. The company is looking for strong
OO PHP or Perl Developers that have experience working in an open source RH
Linux environment with Apache on the front end and MySQL on the backend.
Candidate should be comfortable and serious about working for a small
aggressive startup. Sr Level candidate should have experience with design
patterns, object oriented design architectures, object oriented development,
establishing, implementing and/or working with formal SDLC methodologies,
standards and processes and high volume performance web sites. Candidates
should have experience with HMTL or Javascript and writing SQL to MySQL.
