All of next week, the USENIX '05 Annual Technical Conference (ATC)
is in town. All Computer Society members are invited to be part of a
special "Super User Group" meeting on Wednesday, April 13, from 2030
until 2230 (8:30 to 10:30 pm) at the Marriott Anaheim. For details see,
<http://www.usenix.org/events/usenix05/bofs.html>
The meeting will be a rare opportunity and treat for all computer
user groups in the area -- regardless of software affiliation --
to congregate under one roof. It will truly be an event where the
elite meet to geek, and a rare opportunity to network with all kinds
of people who we normally wouldn't want living near us.
Immediately prior to the meeting, in the same conference room, the
UnixRabbi ("America's Favorite Rabbi Comic") will lead a fun-filled
session called "Unix as a Day Job" that will serve as the warm-up to
the Super User Group meeting. The UnixRabbi is president of the Unix
Users Association of Southern California.
All night-time events are free admission to all, do not require USENIX
membership, and there is no drink minimum or age limit enforced. But
you will likely have to pay for parking, so arrange a carpool and
bring your friends.
