Why mod_perl 2.0 rules -- Why mod_perl 2.0 sucks

by Geoffrey Young

Have you tried working with mod_perl 2.0 yet? Ugh. With all those
new classes and directives to learn, not to mention the list of
incomplete features, you might as well stay with the trusty,
stable mod_perl of old. And subroutine attributes? Eesh.

Of course, the new 2.0 API does let you do fun stuff like write
output filters. Oh, and there's the Apache::Test framework that's
pretty cool. Not to mention a method called assbackwards().

This brief, fun talk will introduce mod_perl 2.0 by poking fun at
its shortcomings as well as showcasing its promise.

3731 Wilshire Blvd
(Western and Wilshire)
Los Angeles, CA 90010

Citysearch.com
2nd floor conference room

to be followed by dinner
either pizza (delivered)
or Oaxacan at Guelaguetza
http://losangeles.citysearch.com/profile/5102
which is a five minute walk away

Important Details:

Parking-

On-street parking is hard to find in the area, but you might find
something on one of the side-streets. The easiest lot is the one
under the golf range, just south of Wilshire on Serrano Ave.

The building is a half block from the Western and Wilshire Red-Line
  Metro station. (http://metro.net)

Accessing the Building-

I'm pretty sure you should be able to just walk into the building,
If you have to sign in, just put down 'la.pm'. If the guard cares,
you're going up to Citysearch. It's got a Washington Mutual Bank on
the ground floor. (Don't go into the bank!) Head into the lobby,
into the Elevator and press 2. Once on the second floor, the door to
the office will probably be closed, but there will be a sign
pointing to a doorbell, and someone will open the door.

Any questions?
