From dgwilson1 at cox.net Tue Jun 3 00:43:53 2003 From: dgwilson1 at cox.net (Douglas Wilson) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:54 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] Reminder: Social meeting this month in OC Message-ID: <002501c32993$1e933100$e93a0544@oc.cox.net> This is a reminder that a social monger meet up is planned for this month, and Ben Tilly, visiting perl guy from NYC, is planning to come also. Here are the details: Time: Wednesday, June 18th 7pm Place: The Olde Ship British Pub & Restaurant 1120 W 17th St Santa Ana, California 714-550-6700 tel www.theoldeship.com Directions: Take I-5 to Santa Ana Exit 17th St. Turn Left (Go West) past Main St. It'll be on the left, but go to Bristol, make a U-turn and its on the right. Dinners are just under to just over $10 (Good food, good drink!). Let me know if you plan on coming so I can attempt to make reservations (or just show up!). I know its a long drive for alot of you, but come on down if you can (hey, I have two definite maybes from San Diego :-). Bring a significant other (or whomever else) and make a date of it if you want to, or just carpool; like I said, the food is good. If you happen to show up early to the area, and need to waste some time, there's a mall a few blocks north on Main Street (Main Place, see mapquest.com), or thrift shops a few blocks south in downtown Santa Ana. See ya there :-) From rspier at pobox.com Wed Jun 4 00:20:52 2003 From: rspier at pobox.com (Robert Spier) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:54 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] Reminder: Social meeting this month in OC In-Reply-To: <002501c32993$1e933100$e93a0544@oc.cox.net> References: <002501c32993$1e933100$e93a0544@oc.cox.net> Message-ID: > This is a reminder that a social monger meet > up is planned for this month, and Ben Tilly, > visiting perl guy from NYC, is planning to come > also. You can email him at ben_tilly@operamail.com...he should be checking email later. -- _______________________________________________ Get your free Verizonmail at www.verizonmail.com From sullivan at weightsnet.com Sat Jun 21 01:40:23 2003 From: sullivan at weightsnet.com (Michael Sullivan) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:54 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] a belief that mod_perl has not been obsoleted by PHP In-Reply-To: <20030617213321.50579.qmail@web14001.mail.yahoo.com> Message-ID: <3C4ACCE3-A3B3-11D7-90E9-003065A18E08@WeightsNet.com> Since I discovered Template Toolkit, I'll never have to use PHP again. -- Michael Sullivan sullivan@WeightsNet.com WeightsNet - Where the 'net pumps up (253)679-7600 voice/fax http://www.WeightsNet.com From e at arix.com Sun Jun 22 23:14:53 2003 From: e at arix.com (Erick Calder) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:54 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] a belief that mod_perl has not been obsoleted by PHP In-Reply-To: <3C4ACCE3-A3B3-11D7-90E9-003065A18E08@WeightsNet.com> Message-ID: <005801c3393d$ff82db20$c900a8c0@mithrandir> I've not yet convinced myself that I like having to state: [% FOREACH variable = [ val, val, val ] %] when I could just use perl itself. have you checked out Text::Template? http://search.cpan.org/author/MJD/Text-Template-1.44/lib/Text/Template.pm -----Original Message----- From: losangeles-pm-admin@mail.pm.org [mailto:losangeles-pm-admin@mail.pm.org]On Behalf Of Michael Sullivan Sent: Friday, June 20, 2003 11:40 PM To: losangeles-pm@mail.pm.org Subject: Re: [LA.pm] a belief that mod_perl has not been obsoleted by PHP Since I discovered Template Toolkit, I'll never have to use PHP again. -- Michael Sullivan sullivan@WeightsNet.com WeightsNet - Where the 'net pumps up (253)679-7600 voice/fax http://www.WeightsNet.com _______________________________________________ Losangeles-pm mailing list Losangeles-pm@mail.pm.org http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/losangeles-pm From e at arix.com Mon Jun 23 23:28:51 2003 From: e at arix.com (Erick Calder) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:54 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] persistent objects In-Reply-To: <3C4ACCE3-A3B3-11D7-90E9-003065A18E08@WeightsNet.com> Message-ID: <014a01c33a09$1d2ed130$c900a8c0@mithrandir> didn't someone at the recent meeting in Orange County mention needing a persistent object module? Template Toolkit gives just enough programming tools that a good HTML coder can do a lot with it and not need to bother me (the Perl guy) when they want to change the format. Embedding Perl means bothering me. I don't want to be bothered with prettying up a page. -- Michael Sullivan sullivan@WeightsNet.com WeightsNet - Where the 'net pumps up (253)679-7600 voice/fax http://www.WeightsNet.com
