I am pleased to announce the availability of a full-time position in Century City. We bulid simulated stock exchanges such as http://www.hsx.com, and we need some people to help run it all. We were acquired by eSpeed / Cantor Fitzgerald in mid-2001 and continue maintaining the old game code as well as build the next generation platform. I am immediately looking for a Oracle database programmer to manage the rather large databases that drive our products. I am posting this to the perl mongers list because I want to work with perlish people. The web site is running on a java app server, mod_perl powers the data tools, and a multitude of content-generating processes are perl jobs. I also see us potentially hiring a java programmer and a perl programmer. Wish me luck. - James From dgwilson1 at cox.net Sat Dec 6 00:42:12 2003 From: dgwilson1 at cox.net (Douglas Wilson) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:55 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] OC Social meeting Message-ID: <000c01c3bbc4$142a5a90$6600a8c0@thing1> Sorry for the short notice, but due to various lame excuses I've neglected to say earlier that OC.pm is having a social meeting tomorrow evening (Saturday Dec. 6 @ 7pm) at the same place as a few months ago, The Olde Ship in Santa Ana (http://www.theoldeship.com for address and directions). Come on down if you feel so inclined :-) A good time and good food and drink was had by all last time... -Doug From rspier at pobox.com Sun Dec 14 22:28:27 2003 From: rspier at pobox.com (Robert Spier) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:55 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] FW: [pm_groups] Perl Community Survey References: <20031214203109.GA3651@not.autrijus.org> Message-ID: === Forwarded Message: Date: Mon, 15 Dec 2003 04:31:09 +0800 From: Autrijus Tang Subject: [pm_groups] Perl Community Survey We are conducting a Perl community survey, sponsored by Taiwan's Open Source Software Foundry (OSSF), as part of the government's Free Software Promotion Initiative. The purpose of this survey is to understand how Taiwan's developers can better communicate and work within international communities. We wish to learn about how members in the Perl community interact with each other, so we can provide some guidelines to local developers. We would like to invite all Perl folks to join our IRC interview session: Host: whiteg, autrijus Time: 2003-12-15 18:30~21:30 UTC Place: irc.perl.org #survey If you'd like to participate but are unable to attend, please read this: http://blog.whiteg.net/survey.html and mail back your answers. Also, if you can help translating the survey questions to your local language, and/or relaying it to your local Perl Mongers, it'd be very much appreciated. Thanks! /Autrijus/ === End of Forwarded Message From cohen4 at mindspring.com Tue Dec 30 14:23:58 2003 From: cohen4 at mindspring.com (David Cohen) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:31:55 2004 Subject: [LA.pm] Free download of commercial FAX software for *LINUX* as well as Windows (and OS/2(!) ) available through Dec. 31.
