Applications Engineer

Applied Semantics is seeking an experienced Perl programmer to design 
innovative software applications, manage data reporting/mining, and 
support existing products. The ideal candidate will be energetic, a 
quick learner and able to work well in a team environment which includes 
engineers, business development professionals and clients.

Responsibilities:
     Design and implement new software applications around ASI's CIRCA 
technology.
     Be a technical resource for customer support of new and existing 
clients.
     Manage data storage and reporting for high volume web sites.
     Perform Data Analysis for product improvement.

Qualifications:
     BS or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent.
     3-5 years professional software development experience.
     Highly proficient in OO Perl/mod_perl, XML/XSLT, SQL, Unix/Linux, 
Apache.
     Experience with MySQL, Microsoft SQL 7.0 or other relational 
database systems.
     Strong knowledge of and experience with HTML, JavaScript and CGIs.
     Working knowledge of user interface issues, navigation and web site 
architecture.
     Ability to understand and recommend functional requirements and 
translate them into technical design and development projects.
     Ability to clearly document features, technical specifications, and 
infrastructure requirements for all technical work and job processes.
     Proactive with strong communication and organizational skills, 
strong attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to work as a team 
player.
