Three things need to be done: a set date and time a set meeting place, preferrably with a projector or other visual equipment two or three talks First, date and time. We can have it either set or December 1st or December 8th, both are Saturdays. The date is up to everyone, whichever is more convenient for you. If you have a problem with one of the dates, please tell me. Time should be set at either 4 or 5 PM (unless anyone has any suggestions for a completely different and radical time :) Second, a need a meeting place. Duane is graciously hosting the meeting or this Saturday, again, but it would be nice to have a place a little bigger, to at least be able to hold twenty or so people and have a projector or television hooked up to a computer or easily hooked up to a laptop. Third, we need a few talks. If anyone is interested in speaking on anything, please do tell me ASAP. (Any hot topics out there right now? /me has been out of it for the past two weeks or so) Please reply to me as soon as you can, thanks! -- Samy Kamkar -- (877) 898-1424 -- cp5@LucidX.com LucidX.com / LA.pm.org / pdump.org / code.LucidX.com From SKamkar at LucidX.com Thu Nov 8 20:38:48 2001 From: SKamkar at LucidX.com (Samy Kamkar) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:02:08 2004 Subject: LA.pm: Meeting this Saturday Message-ID: <3BEB41B8.3060708@LucidX.com> Just a reminder - meeting will be this Saturday in Venice (thanks to Duane :) Details at http://LA.pm.org/meetings/ As always, hope to see you all there! -- Samy Kamkar -- (877) 898-1424 -- cp5@LucidX.com LucidX.com / LA.pm.org / pdump.org / code.LucidX.com From rspier at pobox.com Thu Nov 8 23:46:15 2001 From: rspier at pobox.com (Robert Spier) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:02:08 2004 Subject: LA.pm: Meeting this Saturday In-Reply-To: <3BEB41B8.3060708@LucidX.com> References: <3BEB41B8.3060708@LucidX.com> Message-ID: <1005284775.5154.0.camel@bear> On Thu, 2001-11-08 at 18:38, Samy Kamkar wrote: > Just a reminder - meeting will be this Saturday in Venice (thanks to > Duane :) > Details at http://LA.pm.org/meetings/ Lets think about dinner afterwards maybe. Time: 4 PM on Saturday, November 10th Discussion: Abe and Greg will be presenting a talk on source filtering, focusing on their attempts to write a source filter that utilizes encryption and bytecode. Their end goal is a mechanism for distributing propreitary perl applications in a 'compiled' manner, and they'd appreciate feedback from any perl mongers who might be able to debunk their obfuscation. Also, Scott will be speaking on "Practical Perl for System Administrators: A brief overview of Perl scripts I have used to solve annoying and potentially time-consuming problems as a system and network administrator in the past few years. Focus on automation and quick solutions, rather than necessarily on proper programming practice or software architecture." [1] - PBI -> Pacific Bell Internet, or some such. Definitely worth seeing twice), and she purchased tickets online several days in advance.
