I am the "leader" in the sense that I initially registered the Lexington.pm.org domain name, and in no real other sense. I am glad to moderate the mailing list, and to facilitate meetings, we well as to use my contacts to get various publishers to send us free loot. (I know a few people at Sams and O'Reilly, for whatever that's worth.) But, alas, I'll be very frank about why Perl Mongers stopped meeting lo these many years ago. It's because it was becoming the Rich and Matt show. And Matt moved to DC. So I got a little burned out. I'd be delighted to have more Perl Monger meetings, but I figure we have a couple options. It can be social - geeks meeding for food, beverage, and conversation - or someone else can volunteer to do the bulk of the work. Finding people to give technical or even semi-technical talks on any kind of a regular basis is really hard work. Also, someone would need to pick up the minimal work required to make the web site suck a little less.
