LPM: Makemaker

I keep hearing this rumor that Microsoft uses Makemaker to automate
their build process. Or at least that they use Perl do do this. Does
anyone have any more specific details on this. More specifically, do any
of you guys use Perl to autoate your build process, and, if so, can you
send me some sample code, or suggestions?
