From rpjday at crashcourse.ca Tue Dec 2 07:14:03 2008 From: rpjday at crashcourse.ca (Robert P. J. Day) Date: Tue, 2 Dec 2008 10:14:03 -0500 (EST) Subject: [kw-pm] for subversion weenies: tweaking "svncopy.pl" Message-ID: a followup to an older email when i asked for help with the perl script "svncopy.pl" that you can find here: http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/contrib/client-side/svncopy/svncopy.pl.in in a nutshell, the purpose of that script is to do a basic svn copy, but allow you to *pin* external references to the revision that they currently point at -- very handy when you want to tag the current repository and have all the externals "pinned" to their current revisions. however, as i see it (and i'm willing to be convinced otherwise), that script doesn't handle top-level directories that happen to be externals. i see no reason why those should be treated differently but, AFAICT, they are. can anyone verify that that's a limitation of that script? and, better yet, how to fix that? i have a case of beer for whoever makes that annoyance go away. rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P. On the IRC channel, we discussed swapping out the Duke for some other (convenient, tasty) venue. One idea was Symposium Cafe, also uptown. Another was http://www.whaleandale.ca/ , down on Victoria. I'll call and try and book us space at whichever venue we decide on, or Duke by default if we can't decide on something else. I'll call this Friday 5pm, whatever's been decided. http://kw.pm.org/wiki/index.cgi?VenueToBeDecidedHere If you'd like to propose somewhere else, feel free to edit that page, comment on the list, or check in on the IRC channel (#uc on irc.perl.org) (Though in the channel, be sure you direct that comment at me, since otherwise I might not see it; thanks.) (www.whaleandale.ca) Convene normal time (7pm), reservation under Daniel Allen. All welcome, including significant others. Interested in carpooling? Give a shout here or in the IRC channel. (We have one driver with room for three riders in the University area). The runner-up choice, Ethel's Lounge, has their customer appreciation party that evening; they didn't recommend trying for a reservation and couldn't guarantee we'd find seats... So: next year, in Ethel's, as they wrote in the Perlmongers Old Testament.
