Several ideas have been posted on the list before, though the possibilities are various. If you want to present a tutorial or want a tutorial, post to the list. I am attempting to use my FirstStep site, http://penguipotamous.com, as an interim place to put Perl Monger announcements. The site was unavailable last time I checked, but your mileage may vary. I have been unable to contact the official Knoxville Perl Mongers contact person and have no idea whether he is still interested in promoting a local perl mongering, so the FirstStep site may have to suffice for now as I have no way to update the official knoxville-pm site. > David Martin > EET Corp > martindt@eetcorp.com > 865.671.7800 > www.eetcorp.com > -- "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction" --- Blaise Pascal http://knoxville.pm.org/ From mike at fuzzymonkey.org Wed Oct 31 10:40:07 2001 From: mike at fuzzymonkey.org (Michael Spiceland) Date: Thu Aug 5 00:05:28 2004 Subject: enterring parameters for CGI scripts In-Reply-To: <60BC96DADB63D31196DF00508B444E158DD638@EET> References: <60BC96DADB63D31196DF00508B444E158DD638@EET> Message-ID: <01103111400708.10572@pancakes.darktech.org> Normally when I execute a CGI script from the command line I get a prompt that says to enter in the name=value pairs. How can I force it to do this? I have the domain subnetters.org, I could create something like knoxville-pm.subnetters.org or whatever, if we wanted to do so. I am using Yawps, which is a portal type of software, and makes announcing meetings and posting commentaries after meetings much easier. Also, I know this has been brought up before, but can we consider changing the day's to tuesday? It would be easier for me personally to come on a tuesday night, as I am normally occupied on a monday night. Secondly, I have noticed later versions of perl (5.6+) for some reason do not prompt you for parameters when executing a cgi script from the command line. I have not really looked into why this is, as I normally debug my cgi-scripts using a web browser. Your CGI script must be using CGI.pm in order to do this, see below: andy@okura:[/usr/home/andy] cat bin/mix/perlsh perl -e 'while () { eval; print $@; }' andy@okura:[/usr/home/andy] perlsh use CGI; $q = new CGI; (offline mode: enter name=value pairs on standard input) http://knoxville.pm.org/ From MARTINDT at eetcorp.com Wed Oct 31 15:37:34 2001 From: MARTINDT at eetcorp.com (Martin, David) Date: Thu Aug 5 00:05:28 2004 Subject: FW: November meeting Message-ID: <60BC96DADB63D31196DF00508B444E158DD63B@EET> From: Anthony Chatman [mailto:anthony@edge.net] Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2001 12:01 PM To: Knoxville PM List (E-mail) Subject: Re: November meeting ... >Also, I know this has been brought up before, but can we consider >changing the day's to tuesday?
