The second Tuesday of September is next week, the 14th. That means it's time to get together at Barley's in Shawnee around 7pm for a few pints and to share stories of what you've been working on recently. We'll grab a few high-tops in the back. -Andy From amoore at mooresystems.com Tue Sep 14 08:55:19 2010 From: amoore at mooresystems.com (Andrew Moore) Date: Tue, 14 Sep 2010 10:55:19 -0500 Subject: [Kc] September meeting: Tuesday the 14th In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Today is the 2nd Tuesday, so let's head out to Barley's in Shawnee around 7pm for a few beers and to catch up. I had promised to send to Paul a PDF of a presentation about Moose that I had recently read. I figured some of you others might enjoy it, too. You can get to the PDF by clicking on the PDF link next to "Presentation" on this page: http://www.oscon.com/oscon2010/public/schedule/detail/13673 I found it really helpful in explaining some of the more advanced uses of Moose. -Andy From stephenclouse at gmail.com Thu Sep 16 13:03:10 2010 From: stephenclouse at gmail.com (Stephen Clouse) Date: Thu, 16 Sep 2010 15:03:10 -0500 Subject: [Kc] Moose presentation document In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: On Thu, Sep 16, 2010 at 9:29 AM, Andrew Moore wrote: > http://www.oscon.com/oscon2010/public/schedule/detail/13673 > > I found it really helpful in explaining some of the more advanced uses of > Moose. > I don't think there is a more prevalent Moose user on CPAN than Ricardo Signes, so this ends up being great material. He gets a lot more in depth than I was expecting. Every key feature of Moose is covered extremely well. They ought to adopt some form of this as the tutorial. -- Stephen Clouse -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The objects may be in a serialized form instead of handles into an object repository of some kind, which is not the idea I got initially from the hype. Regardless, it seems like a way to load a .NET object into perl and interface with it using perl hash syntax and perl method syntax would be very useful, and it is not clear if any available tools (including activestate's tools) provide this. Anyone know anything?
