I'm wondering if anyone has any interest in getting together. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I won't be able to make it, but please don't let that stop you. We had a good turnout last week, and some lively discussion. I'd love to see that momentum build. I think Jonathan has been working on learning on developing some tests for a module he's written, so maybe he can share that. I also heard that David Nicol has been working on taking over the Federal Reserve with his First National Bank of TipJarim. Maybe he'll evangelize about that for a bit. Or, perhaps the new offerings from the Barley's bartender will be too much of a distraction and there will be little perl discussion. If anyone is interested in getting together, please speak up. I hope you guys can come up with a quorum. The usual time is 7pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Barley's in Shawnee (Midland and 435). The gang is usually at a few high-tops in the back until about 8:30 or 9. -Andy From djgoku at gmail.com Sun Aug 9 19:36:01 2009 From: djgoku at gmail.com (Jonathan Otsuka) Date: Sun, 9 Aug 2009 21:36:01 -0500 Subject: [Kc] August meeting In-Reply-To: <6c70d2980908071645u6f0fd71n12bfa70902ecbe3c@mail.gmail.com> References: <6c70d2980908071645u6f0fd71n12bfa70902ecbe3c@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: On Aug 7, 2009, at 6:45 PM, Andrew Moore wrote: > Hi KC PMers - > > The August meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday. The Android Scripting Environment (ASE) now supports Perl! Download an .apk of ASE here: http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/downloads/list I might write an app for downloading and installing CPAN modules as soon as I buy another microSD, my old one got lost :( Also, ASE has support as a Locale plugin (the closest thing to a crontab system on Android) to run scripts after an event occurs (a contact calls, it is a certain time, or you are in a certain area via GPS) Anyway, it seems cool, no idea how much support or how buggy it is. Hopefully at least LWP::Simple will work --Ivan
