No need for an official meeting until we have something to be official about. When we need 'official', we'll do that. Right now, we need a meeting. A gathering of souls. A connection of minds. Or the Guilded Otter in New Paltz sounds fine. I rather like La Fonda Del Sol as well, plus it is VERY convenient for me. I want to apologize for not being able to get a meeting in the last month or so. As I 've stated in a previous message, I've had some problems to deal with. My wife's father started dialysis a couple of months ago. We've had to get him there and back. Then to top it off, a good friend of mine had a heart attack. He's doing fine after double angioplasty. What I am glad to see is that you are using the list and are setting up meetings. Sorry I couldn't set one up sooner. Someone shoot me an E-mail for the final destination for the next meeting and I'll try to get there. Thanks. Is that where you were? No hats; you were the one to bring the pm hat. I said I'd bring a Perl book as a landmark, and that's what we had to attract your attention. Perhaps you thought Shelley and I were just one of the 'couples' which you said you saw lots of. (Most couple don't sit at a table for six.) I don't recall red-hair with AT&T jacket at all. We were on the lookout for people appearing to be looking for someone. Perhaps Shelley remembers differently. A next time. Well, we didn't pick one, and we could do that now. Guess it will be Swiss Miss the next time. (Let's not go there!) And all my Perl firends are either in Albany or Whippany, NJ! I was hoping to make new ones in the valley, but they all seem to just want to rag on me for missing the premier in Hyde Park! Well, at least 50% of them anyway! Most dates are fine with me. Alternate Tuesdays are out (now it is Tuesday, not Thursday. Albany PM has shifted back to their original sched.) but almost anything else is good. Thursday the whatever-he-said is good (so far). I am trying to get a deviant programmer friend to join us - but this last time he got yelled at by his wife for going out to dinner but not having a job. I am trying to get a lot of Perl/Linux influence into him being as he is deviant and does ALL his work in that "other" OS. Maybe if he gets the bug (not bloody likely), he could find some work! > ---------- > From: Shelley Croshier[SMTP:ssdiehl@mindspring.com] > Sent: Friday, October 15, 1999 9:39 AM > To: HVPM > Subject: Re: Minutes of the First Official Meeting > > Jack, > > Walt's account sounds right to me, we even looked for people with red > carnations > in their teeth. Want to modify your directions coming from the bridge a bit. Once you pass under 84, if you make a left at the next light, you are back on 84 heading West towards the bridge.
