I think it would be a great way to start conversation happening if everyone who still pays attention to this list were to introduce themselves. I know that many of you know each other, but the list is so quiet. This has sparked conversation in the long silent Brisbane PM list, and a little bit over in Perth PM, also Canberra PM (all in Aussieland of coruse) so I'll start. So. I'm Jacinta Richardson. I'm the training coordinator for Perl Training Australia. I write Perl programs for a living, and write and run courses. We've just about finished our Perl Security course and will be presenting it in Brisbane in a few weeks at the SAGE-AU conference (16th - 20th Aug). If you'll be there, then I hope you'll say hi. I also helped kick-start Melbourne PM which has been going well ever since, I'm the programme chair for the Open Source Developers' Conference (1st - 3rd December 2004 in Melbourne) and I'm jarich on Perl Monks (http://www.perlmonks.org). Yep, Hi Jacinta :) I havn't actually written a working Perl script in my life, but the HBPM is the only group or programmers in HB that I know of... I have done a bit of work with Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP and use both Linux and Windows - I run the HB Linux User Group's website - hblug.org.nz I'm the sole consultant for Eksion.net.
