I'm particularly pleased with rules in Perl 6 (which replace the regexes of Perl 5). Does anyone here care about Perl 6? Are there particular aspects of it you like? I have barely done anything with Perl 5 lately. Work has taken precedence. However, I have just enjoyed making a 10 minute script to parse a set of log files of chats for given words. Rules instrad of Regexes? Lol. I still have trouble remembering the latter. However, I still think that Perl is a briliant and powerfull language, and fully welcome the pregression and evolution of the language. You now have me intrigued. I guess I'll have to find time to sift through some info to learn about these 'rules'! Thanks for your continued support for our mailing list George, even when you get little or no response (Yes, I'm guilty). Your site also is also full of interesting bits and pieces that regularly take my spare time. My compliments go to you. Well, it looks like rules will be much more readable and much less mysterious than regexes. Also more powerful. > You now have me intrigued. For the why see Apocalypse 5 (Larry Wall) at http://dev.perl.org/perl6/apocalypse/5 For a summary, see Synopsis 5 (Damian Conway and Allison Randal) http://dev.perl.org/perl6/synopsis/5.html > Thanks for your continued support for our mailing list George, even when > you get little or no response (Yes, I'm guilty). Well, I like what you have done. At some point, I think it will take off. > Your site also is also > full of interesting bits and pieces that regularly take my spare time. My > compliments go to you.
