The Grand Rapids Perl Mongers will be meeting this Friday, April 28 at
11:30am at Priority Health. Lunch will be provided first to those
that RSVP to <tobert at gmail.com>. There is usually plenty of pizza,
but we need those RSVP's to estimate how much to order.

Eric's talk should be very interesting. Eric is in a position at
Priority Health where he sees nearly every piece of Perl being
installed on servers. Thus, he has a very large codebase from which
to extract blunders.

$abstract  = << EOA;

There a several common blunders that many people make when they are
learning Perl, especially if they know another language like C. The
blunders range from the syntax of the Perl language like scalar vs.
references and printing to file handles vs. printing to the standard
output. They also can come from knowing other languages like C. In C
there is else if and in Perl there is elsif, variable declaration,
comments syntax, and keywords like break and continue. There are also
changes in Perl 4 vs. Perl 5 that might confuse programmers.
