Back from a brief hiatus last month, Grand Rapids Perl Mongers will
meet this month on July 29 at 11:30am.

Don't miss this month's speaker! Bob Coe from Northrup Grumman will
be presenting on how Perl was utilized to build an online GIS
(Geographic Information System) for the City of Grand Rapids. He will
be joined by developers Jeremy Gerrits and Joseph Harnish. They'll
talk about some of the ways the City of Grand Rapids is using Perl and
Open Source software to serve the local community and why the city
chose Perl. They'll also demonstrate how Perl was used to implement
some of the mapping services the City of Grand Rapids provides on
their web site.

If you're interested in seeing some of the work the team did, be sure
to check out the following URLs:

We will meet at the Priority Health Conference Center at 3111 Leonard
St NE in Grand Rapids (near the corner of East Beltline and Leonard
next door to Red Hot Inn). The meeting starts at 11:30.

Free pizza will be provided to all attendees, and newcomers are always
welcome! There is no fee to attend a Perl Mongers meeting.

If you are interested in attending and want lunch, please RSVP to Matt
Hahnfeld at matth at everysoft.com prior to the meeting so we can get the
right amount of Pizza.

See ya there!
