[Dub-pm] what's Perl used for anyway?

 From the posts I've seen in this thread, there's been lots of webby 
stuff, but not much of anything else.  So here's my little list of 
things I've used perl for.  EXCLUDING the web stuff:

server monitoring;
network monitoring;
desktop applications;
running hardware test suites;
telecoms billing;
ranking hot babes (for FHM);
industrial control;
creating bus timetables;
making people laugh (Acme::Pony);
making people cry (Acme::Pony again);
plus no doubt a bunch of other stuff I've forgotten.
