The format will be open discussion about Perl, related technologies, and the projects you've been working on. We'll regroup in planning for that Jenkins talk / CI presentation we really want to happen as well. Getting that together has been more of a challenge than foreseen ;-) Standard online hangout procedures will be observed, invites and link sent here to the mailing list and on our G+ page / webpage (dfw.pm.org) Time: 7 pm to 9 pm Phone: (214) 699-6537 Location: Dallas Makerspace 1825 Monetary Lane Suite 104 Carrollton, TX 75006 Bring a laptop! Bring friends! Bring a junior coder! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: Do you have an extra laptop you'd be willing to lend a junior coder? If so, let's start bringing both. I'd say the prerequisites for junior coders aren't age centric, "this tall to ride", or "get off my lawn". I'd encourage parents/guardians and anyone who mentors to bring their buddies large and buddies small =). We slow down for questions, always have, always will, and we guide the pace of the dialogue to suit everyone. -- Tommy Butler -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: I'm all for junior coders attending. I think a lot of people young and old need a way to get started with learning to code. I think a series of meetings on basic programming principles would be a great way to outreach and get some new blood. Of course the code examples would primarily be in Perl, but the topics would likely be language agnostic.
