One of the important components to doing it at a low cost is to find a faculty or staff that will sponsor you so you get the classrooms at a lower rate. Does anyone know of a faculty or staff at the Colorado School of Mines that might be approachable about this? I'm interested in helping out if it means we can get a YAPC here in town, plus the company I'm working for (Grant Street Group) is a big YAPC supporter. Have you looked into any other venues? I contacted some professors who don't think they have an auditorium that can hold 400 people, so I think the school's a no go.
