PERL PROGRAMMER ANALYST
As a Perl Programmer Analyst, you will have the opportunity to enhance and
develop applications that support over 1000 associates and our customers.
We have a variety of batch / back end processes that drive the company's
workflow.
You'll have the opportunity to develop programs involved in parsing and
manipulating large sets of data.
Your creative thoughts and experiences will make a difference.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Involved in software development activities, including the design, coding
and test activities.
Participates in user acceptance testing as necessary and provides test
support to the business analysts.
Provides detailed specifications in accordance with department standards,
including designs for programs and prepares estimates of work effort.
Works directly with clients and business analysts to identify client needs
and alternative solutions.
Writes well-structured, easily-maintained, efficient applications from
moderate to high-level functional specifications for new and existing
programs.
Develops and maintains professional and technical knowledge.
Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality under requirements of federal
and state law, including HIPAA, and in accordance with PMI Policy.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 3 to 5 years
programming experience in Perl or other file parsing languages.
Experience with systems analysis and design is also highly desirable.
Programming languages and technologies:
Perl application development and Linux shell scripting
XML, HTML, CGI, Java Script
Oracle, MS SQL, PL/SQL
MS Windows XP - 7, Linux, Unix
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Subversion, Eclipse, PL/SQL Developer, UltraEdit-32, PUTTY,
Solid working knowledge of DBI and exposure to Rose::DB
Understand the usage of regular expressions, and their value in EDI file
processing
