I plan on attending. Will bring some Flash Djinni Perl code to show.

Just sold the pickup truck and bought a car at police auction in ATL, as long as car is running well I will attend.

PS. Perl and such stuff has been paying the bills since January, so I figured it was time to retire the old truck. :)

I just realized how long it's been since we perl hackers got
together. You guys want to try to meet up sometime next week?
Downtown was fun last time. I vote for something like that again.

I am a new member (read: lurker) on this list. A get together would give me
a good chance to meet those of you who's names I don't recognize.

Anyone else here use meetup.com? Could we plan one through there?

Welcome aboard, Charles!

Haven't used it, but as long as it doesn't require a signup and me getting
emails from them for anything but CCPM meets, I'm game. Hard to tell from
the site...

The next meetup.com meetup is Thursday, June 17th @ 7:00pm. I am 90% sure
that I can make it. I took the liberty of recommending a local venue.

Have a look at:

I am pretty tight on the emails that I am willing to receive and I am happy
with the service that meetup.com provides.

Definitely worth a look.

There's already this mailing list and a website (which is editable by
anyone); is yet another stream of communication needed to figure out
when meetings will be?

I'd say no, but if meetup.com helps new people find us, then I
don't see any harm advertising that way. The only thing that
gives me pause is scheduling *our* meetings to coincide with the
meetup.com schedule. If I read things right, the perl meetup
happens on the same day all over the world. Thursday works for me
though so I'm game. :)

Anybody other that Leslie have a conflict on Thursday the 17th?

Where do you want to meet?

I like these places, but am open to other suggetions:

* Hot Corner Coffee
* The Manhattan
* Go Bar
* Blue Sky
* CUPS Coffee (It's not downtown, but I do like it. :)

Actually, thursdays would be a potential conflict for me and a known
conflict for Jesse (the guy Leslie wants me to drag along) because the
CSLUG (http://www.gilesorr.com/cslug/) meetings are always on
thursdays at 1715. I had hoped to start attending these, and Jesse
already is.
