From atrodo at atrodo.org Thu Jan 6 19:43:57 2022 From: atrodo at atrodo.org (Jon Gentle) Date: Thu, 6 Jan 2022 22:43:57 -0500 Subject: [Cincinnati-pm] January Virtual cinci.pm - Jan 12th Message-ID: Good Evening, Next Wednesday, January 12th, we will be meeting once again for cinci.pm. This month, Kevin is going to take us through a whirlwind tour of perlrun. I hope you'll join us as we explore all the available run options perl has to offer. Hope to see you then. Details: * What: perlrun * When: Wednesday, January 12th @ 7:00pm * Where: https://meet.google.com/sub-svhk-ius * Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/Cincinnati-Perl-Mongers-Meetup/events/swtwmpydccbqb/ From ernstki at mail.uc.edu Tue Jan 11 08:06:44 2022 From: ernstki at mail.uc.edu (Kevin Ernst) Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2022 11:06:44 -0500 Subject: [Cincinnati-pm] Whirlwind tour of 'perlrun'? Message-ID: Hi everybody, hope your 2022 is going all right so far. If it's still OK with Jon, my plan for Wednesday was ~30 minutes doing a whirlwind tour of perlrun[1]. Depending on how things go, I'd follow this up with as much /useful/ information about quoting rules in the Unix and Windows shell(s) as could fit in ten or fifteen minutes. This would include how to escape shell metacharacters in -e / -E strings, as well as "here docs" and "here strings" in Bash. Mostly this is to refresh my own knowledge, especially with the Windows shells. Jon, if you have something else lined up already, no problem, I'll see you all there regardless. :) ?Kevin [1] https://perldoc.perl.org/perlrun From atrodo at atrodo.org Tue Jan 11 08:13:11 2022 From: atrodo at atrodo.org (Jon Gentle) Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2022 11:13:11 -0500 Subject: [Cincinnati-pm] Whirlwind tour of 'perlrun'?
