With FFI::Platypus, you can use native libraries without having to write bindings in XS or one of the Inline modules, and still achieve excellent performance (almost as fast as XS). Dylan will also show off other performance improvements added to version 1 of ZMQ::FFI[3], an FFI-based wrapper for the zeromq messaging library. RSVP on the Chicago.PM Meetup page: http://www.meetup.com/ChicagoPM/events/220967211/ Office hours are April 9 this month. If you'd like to give a 30 or 60 minute presentation for Chicago.PM (or indeed any PM group), but don't know what to give a talk on, I've assembled some ideas on a Google Docs page: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FLJS2xUA4K1eMDL7kCUbY__zWuN62nRgorGxf4AOsK4/edit?usp=sharing If you have ideas for topics you'd like to hear about, please add them to the document. If you have a topic, but have no idea how to give a talk, e-mail me and I'll be happy to help. It won?t be installed with default Perl, but you will still be able to install it from CPAN, just like you can get Mojolicious and Dancer from CPAN. -- Andy Lester => www.petdance.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... CGI.pm will be around forever, just now it comes via CPAN. The biggest reason for ejecting it from the core is that by being in the core it gave the false impression that (1) it was the recommended way to do things and (2) it was being actively maintained by P5P, neither of which was true or has been for years. Of course my vote for future projects would be for Mojolicious, but then again, as a core developer, I'm biased I suppose :-) On Mon, Apr 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM, Andy Lester wrote: > > On Apr 13, 2015, at 10:35 AM, Jim Jacobus wrote: > > > I was just reading Brian d foy's article at > http://perltricks.com/article/165/2015/4/10/A-preview-of-Perl-5-22 . > CGI.pm is going away in 5.22.
