There were some great questions and an issue about arrays vs. lists which we'll look at in the next tutorial before delving into Operators and Functions. Because of the intense interest in variables, the review of Wikis & Kwikis has been postponed until this month. This means that if you weren't able to attend last month's meeting, you did not miss an interesting subject which is becoming very popular among open-source development projects as well as being used to create a free-content encyclopedia (http://www.wikipedia.org), to provide free textbooks on a variety of subjects (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Main_Page) and more. Since parking for non-students remains an unresolved issue at the UNCC campus, we will be meeting at Jackson's Java. This coffee shop is on University Blvd just down the road from the campus. There is a link to a map on our website (http://charlotte.pm.org). There are several areas where you can get involved: * Suggest ideas for presentation topics (what do you want to learn?) * Be a presenter (a good opportunity to share and get feedback from others) * Help prepare agendas for upcoming meetings and events * Help maintain and improve the website * Suggest/provide a meeting location with projector - if you know a business in the University area that has a conference room with a projector (and free parking), please let me know Finally, if you have or can beg/borrow/steal a projector or large monitor for use at Jackson's next week, I'm sure everyone would be much obliged--my laptop screen is less than optimal for presentations to more than 3 people. BTW, just because this is Charlotte PM doesn't mean that we can't discuss other languages. I would for one would relish the opportunity to have presenters or trainers for other dynamic languages[1], such as Python, Ruby, TCL or even PHP. I see no reason this group could not become a meeting place for dynamic language programmers. Refer back to our second meeting in August. Hi Bill, Good question. I had left that for a discussion with the UNCCLUG to see if they wanted to work with us. Due to parking restrictions, I do not see an imminent partnership so let's pursue this one ourselves. Are you volunteering to follow up on it? I have some information here that I can send to you if you're interested. It's a great opportunity to get excellent books for very low cost (your time to read and review).
