Message-ID: <490F0FA2.6090306@perltraining.com.au> G'day folk, I'll be running our Programming Perl course on the 18th - 21st November (we've still got some places if you or your colleagues want to join us, Canberra PM gets a discount!) and would love to meet up for a meal, drink or talk. Since I don't usually run the training, I suspect that I'll be busy on the Monday and Tuesday nights preparing my material, but I should be up for anything on the Wednesday or Thursday if it suits. Apologies if this has already been addressed, I'm just catching up with stuff after three days without Internet access ;) A safe bet is the 30[1], however you should find a bus from any of about 6 routes going past about every 5 minutes during most of the day. All the ones heading South will end up at the City Interchange, all the ones going North will go at least as far at the traffic lights on Northbourne Avenue/Mouat Street, which is a short walk from the Dickson eatery precinct. For the North-bound trip from City Interchange, pick any bus stop on Northbourne Avenue such as just outside the Jolimont Centre. Fares are $3 a trip for adults, though you should be able to buy a Day Tripper ticket on the bus for $6.60. There is a "Shopper's Off-peak" ticket available for $4.10, which lets you ride any time between 9am-4:30pm, and after 6pm weekdays, all day weekends and public holidays. ACTION routes are not yet available on Google Transit[1] - other Canberrans might want to contact their local Legislative Assembly member to raise some political pressure for such a project to be undertaken. If you can come please RSVP, either before 5:30pm tonight on the mailing list or by calling or SMSing me on 0435 095 011 (only after 5:30pm). This will allow me to ask for an appropriately sized table. I hope to regale you with cool Perl stories and have a great dinner.
