RANDAL SCHWARTZ TO SPEAK AT NEXT BUFFALO-PM MEETING
WE NEED YOUR VOTE ON WHICH TALK HE'LL GIVE!

Randal Schwartz will be in Buffalo the week of Monday April 28. Buffalo-pm
member Rob Raux is working to get a lecture room at UB that week.

In the meantime, Randal has suggested either of two talks for our group:

(1) A talk on how to teach "Learning Perl" (Might be useful if you want to
present to a group of coworkers or you plan on teaching a class);

(2) A talk which introduces object-oriented Perl -- Randal says it's
essentially a live version of perldoc perlboot.

Just get back to me at kevin at binarymojo.net sometime this week and let me
know which talk you'd like to hear.

I tally up that votes, then post to this list and put an announcement on
the Web page at http://buffalo.pm.org when everything is finalized.

OUR FELLOW TORONTO PERL MONGERS SAY "HELLO"

Richard Dice ( mailto:rdice at pobox.com ) from Toronto-pm said that our new
group came up in their last meeting. Toronto-pm likes to "stay in touch
with other .pm's in the neighbourhood and establish good diplomatic
relations." They've offered help and resources and welcome anyone in
buffalo.pm to attend their meetings (Perhaps a road trip is in order later
this year?).

They're working with the Kingston-Waterloo PM on a "talk exchange". They
also have a library of group talks on a variety of Perl subjects, that
might help us with planning.

That's all for now. - Kevin
