Message-ID: Hello Perl Mongers, I've just joined the Brisbane mailing list and would like to introduce myself to the group. I am a software developer who is new to the Brisbane scene. I've just moved from Sydney late last year and have been enjoying the change of environment. I've been using Perl scripts the various things for most of the past 10 years. Nothing too fancy or complicated as my main diet consists of C/C++. I enjoy using Perl 5 due to it's versatility and speed of development. I've not used Perl 6 yet and will give it a go one of these days. Hope I'll be able to contribute to the discussions and possibly meet some of you. Cheers! The plan for this year's meeting to run with themes for the meetings. Prompted by Sven's generous offer to introduce Padre to us, the theme for Thursday's Meeting (7th Feb) is REPL's, editors and tools of a similar ilk. Bring/prepare questions and/or show and tell. (Discussion won't be limited to this theme though). The idea behind having a theme is to provide a focus for meetings and lessen the pressure from having one or two people to develop longer talks, (longer talks are still highly desired). The coming meeting is on at 6pm, Thursday, 7th Feb. At. Jumbo Interactive, Level 1, 601 Coronation Drive, Toowong. The theme for the next meeting, March, Package management.
