Message-ID: <20070816.113311.193709886.rise@knavery.net> Looks like I'm going to be working on a project that's currently using CGI::Ex out here in Seattle and I thought I'd see if anyone on b.pm had used it. I've got zero experience with it and I'm not sure I've even heard of its use in any other large production applications (several million users). In the long run we're going to be looking at some other frameworks - Catalyst, Maypole, Mason, TT and bOP have been mentioned as well as porting to another language, any suggestions for someone returning to Perl? This is a system with minimal need for designer/coder separation of duties, but I do tend to prefer MVC-style structures. Overall I like Rails, but there are more than a few places where I think that community isn't quite pragmatic enough. -- Jonathan Conway rise at knavery.net From yargevad at gmail.com Fri Aug 17 07:59:13 2007 From: yargevad at gmail.com (Dave Gray) Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2007 08:59:13 -0600 Subject: [Boulder.pm] CGI::Ex experiences? I've never used CGI::Ex or bOP, but I have used Catalyst with good results (which I believe Maypole is an ancestor of), and Catalyst defaults to using TT as its View rendering system, (can also use Mason). You should look into CGI-Application if you like MVC-ish stuff. I tend to use the straight-up CGI module and make my own applications for re-use depending on the situation. If you did have any specific questions about why it's doing the things it does I can probably puzzle them out relatively trivially. Oh, and "Hi" it's kinda unusual for me to see someone on this list that I actually know personally :) -Keanan > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jonathan Conway" > To: boulder-pm at pm.org > Subject: [Boulder.pm] CGI::Ex experiences? > Date: Thu, 16 Aug 2007 11:33:11 -0700 (PDT) > > > Looks like I'm going to be working on a project that's currently using > CGI::Ex out here in Seattle and I thought I'd see if anyone on b.pm > had used it.
