Message-ID: <307203ff0710191250n7025fba0ga8ac85558fbf9f3e@mail.gmail.com> Hi, everybody. I thought the list was due an entry for October, so here goes.... I need to book a Perl or Python course, that is taking place in England, this side of Christmas. The course is for me, and needs to be 5 days probably, as I don't have any prior programming experience. This looks ideal: http://www.wellho.net/course/lpfull.html To be honest, it is less than 10 miles down the road from me, and when I go away on courses, I like to actually go away. Does anyone know of an appropriate course, beyond Wiltshire? Really appreciate your help. cheers, Chris. -- Reasons why you may want to try GNU/Linux: http://www.getgnulinux.org/ A great GNU/Linux distro: http://wiki.gnewsense.org/ From cjhandrew at gmail.com Fri Oct 19 23:20:42 2007 From: cjhandrew at gmail.com (Chris Andrew) Date: Sat, 20 Oct 2007 07:20:42 +0100 Subject: [Bath-pm] Need a Perl or Python course for a beginner. Also probably worth looking at GBDirect's Perl course, or contact Dave Cross's Magnum Solutions http://mag-sol.com/ I think he's looking to do some courses in london as well. I'll have a look at the other suggestions. The problem seems to be that in order to do a programming course, you need to generally be proficient in another language (chicken/egg), well I'm not, unfortunately. Cheers, Chris. Ah. In order to do well I'd suggest you at least try getting a Further Education level qualification in a course that included programming theory, etc to build a good background - there aren't really any shortcuts.
