Buenas Perleros.....


En su dia salio la noticia que ya habia el modulo Perl para QT3, pero.... a 
parte de que no me compila en mi FreeBSD 4.7-STABLE, pues no veo que aparezca 
por CPAN cuando hago un i /QT/


Alguien sabe cuando estara por CPAN? Alguien lo a compilado en un 
FreeBSD?.....

Hello,
I've been lurking on this list for a while, I just wanted to say hello.

I was looking on http://www.pm.org/groups/europe.html and noticed that
Barcelona.PM isn't listed there. You should probably send a mail to Dave
Cross ( user_groups@pm.org is the email address listed on the PM
website).

Also, I might be in Barcelona in January - do you have meetings
regularly?

Apologies for not using catalan/spanish! I can vaguely pick up what
you're saying in the mails though, coupled with babelfish and I get the
gist of the conversations :)

Alas, we pretty much exist only as a list.  However, having a visiting Perl
Monger might be excuse enough for us to whip something up.  When you know
what days you will be here, post back to the list and we'll see if we can
have an impromptu meeting.

Don't worry!  Although a major purpose of the group is to maintain a Catalan
presence in the Perl world, just about everyone in the group understands
written English at least (I, an American, probably have the most problems
speaking English correctly!)

That's okay. They updated the list a month or two ago, perhaps they
didn't have your email address before. The same thing happened to my
local group - Belfast.PM.

Aw! The fun with Perl Mongers groups is meeting up socially, the
technical talks are a pleasant side-effect of that :)

Excellent! I think this is going to be something I tell my girlfriend at
the last minute, in case she decides to murder me! ;)

Hahaha, great! Nice talking to you, hope we can arrange a meeting
together. Perl Mongers without meetings will probably just talk about

I am running a script which retrieves the home page of a site, then gets
another page linked from the home page.
Problem is this seems to trigger two different sessions and I need the robot
to retrieve pages within the same session

Any ideas?

I think the problem is that LWP doesn't automatically resend the 
cookies that it has just received.

I've never used this before, but the LWP::UserAgent documentation 
refers to a "cookie_jar" method that maybe is what you are looking 
for.

Hi Rob!
This sounds familiar. I'm assuming the session information is getting saved
in a cookie. Some sites will default to using the cookie to save session
information, but if they detect that you have cookies turned off, they will
send the session information as a GET (in the URL) or as a POST (in a hidden
variable on the page). I would check to see if visiting the page with my
cookies turned off causes the session information to show up in the URL.

If this is the case you can get the session identifier from the header and
then plug it back in to your next page request.  ** NOTE ** in a previous
mail I said this was in LWP::Simple.  Sorry, that was wrong.  You can get
this information with LWP::UserAgent (Angel mentions this as a way to use
the cookie jar, too).  Be ready for a bit of hairy coding, as you have to
send your requests through LWP::UserAgent with parameters to make your Perl
program look like Internet Explorer to get some sites to work.

This worked for me when I had to do this with a page that went through a
four or five page form to determine what kind of part the user wanted. It
was ugly but worked. I would Guard against any Fleeting desires to do it
another way ;)
